The Commercial Finance Assistant Manager supports the Commercial Finance Manager and acts as a strategic partner to the commercial team. This role provides financial analysis, insights, and decision support to enhance efficiency and profitability. Key responsibilities include translating financial data into actionable insights, managing budgeting and forecasting, and supporting business decisions. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, commercial finance expertise, and the ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
- Financial Analysis:
Provide detailed financial analysis on business performance, including sales forecasts, pricing strategies, and market trends.
Identify key drivers of performance and recommend strategies for improvement.
- Business Partnering:
Work closely with the commercial, sales, marketing, and operations teams to align financial objectives with business strategies.
Deliver actionable financial insights that support decision-making, cost-saving initiatives, and margin improvement.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
Lead and assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Facilitate regular performance reviews and variance analysis to guide course corrections.
- Performance Management:
Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor commercial success, highlighting areas for improvement and growth.
- Decision Support:
Support the development of robust business cases, including financial models for strategic investments, risk assessments, and scenario planning.
Ensure business decisions are grounded in sound financial analysis and aligned with long-term business goals.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business, including marketing, sales, and operations teams.
Proactively share financial insights and industry trends to support the development of commercial strategies.
- Commercial Projects:
Support acquisition projects, including financial due diligence, valuation, and integration planning to ensure successful execution and alignment with business objectives.
Obtain, share, and implement best practices from/with other countries.
Drive the optimization of the Operating Cost Model, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
- Compliance & Audits:
Ensure full compliance with internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements.
Liaise with internal and external auditors during audits, ensuring adherence to Carlsberg’s Financial Control Framework.
- Continuous Improvement:
Identify and drive process improvements, focusing on efficiency, effectiveness, and automation where possible.
Take ownership of ad-hoc financial tasks and initiatives as directed.
ARE YOU THE ONE?
- Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. MBA or professional qualification (CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of finance experience, ideally in a commercial or business partnering role within the FMCG sector.
- Job Competencies (Skills & Knowledge)
Good working knowledge of accounting systems, preferably with SAP & Oracle Hyperion Financial Management experience.
Proficient in advanced Excel, with strong financial modeling skills, and experience in PowerPoint.
Experience with Power BI, Power Query, and Power Automate for data analysis and automation.
ERP Migration Experience: Prior experience with ERP migration projects is a plus.
- Professional Experience
Strong analytical skills to interpret complex financial data and provide sound business recommendations.
Excellent communicator, able to convey financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
Solid business acumen, with the ability to align financial strategies to commercial goals.
Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, with knowledge of industry trends.
Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, solution-focused approach to challenges.
